Dr Mohamud Sheek-Hussein is a physician specializing in international public health, epidemiology of infectious diseases and tropical medicine, currently an Associate Professor in the Institute of Public Health at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at UAE University in Al Dr Sheek-Hussein completed his Doctorate of Public Health in 2004 at the School of Public Health at the University of Texas in Houston (USA) where his dissertation focused on the epidemiological aspects of hepatitis C virus infection among pregnant women and neonates in the UAE. My main areas of research interest are infectious diseases, immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases, mother and child health, Viral Hepatitis C and B Virus, Liver Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. During the past 30 years
Dr Sheek-Hussein has developed extensive practical and clinical experience of the health care system, public health services, and infectious disease surveillance in the UAE.
