AAC strives to make academic studies more accessible to people living in the south-western part of Israel; to develop innovative methods of teaching and learning; to set high standards of academic research and international cooperation; to achieve academic excellence by providing scholarships for outstanding students, to foster research with establishment of research institutes in various disciplines.

The mission statement of School for Health Professions bachelor degree program in Public Health is: to provide opportunity for academic studies in public health for students in the southern district of Israel; to improve human resource training and supply in a relatively deprived region of the country; to provide opportunity for professional advancement for diploma level paramedical professionals; to provide opportunities for academics for teaching and research in health-related topics; to promote cooperation and exchange programs with other schools of public health in Israel and abroad and to stimulate academic and research cooperation with partner schools in Israel and abroad.
