Health for all
The Department of Public Health works to promote public health. We conduct research into the health challenges facing society – to promote health and to prevent, treat and alleviate disease. We teach methods and interventions that are relevant to public health. And we collaborate and share our knowledge with citizens, decision-makers, business and industry, practitioners and other researchers – in municipalities, regions and both nationally and internationally.

Research
We conduct research in the occurrence, distribution, causes and consequences for health and diseases.

Sections
Research at the Department of Public Health is organised in the following sections:

Section for General Medical Practice
Section for Biostatistics
The research conducted at the Section for Biostatistics comprises statistical methodological research primarily of relevance to health science.

Section for Epidemiology
Section for Sport Science
Section for Clinical Social Medicine and Rehabilitation
Section for Environment, Occupation and Health
Section for Health Promotion and Health Services
Section for Nursing

The department is reorganising

The Department of Public Health is undertaking a reorganisation, which among other things entails that the current eight sections will be reduced to three.

We expect to have the department's new organisation in place by the end of 2018.
