Faculty of Health Sciences of the Wroclaw Medical University was established in 1978. At the start it was the Faculty of Nursing, later the Faculty of Public Health and since 2008 it is the Faculty of Health Sciences.

We are one of the oldest and most important in Poland university that teaches medical personnel. In the year of 2018 we were celebrating our 40-years anniversary, we are proud that we have many alumni, who offer professional help to patients in hospitals, clinics, are working in health administration in Poland and worldwide. Foreign students have the possibility to attend our study programmes: Nursing, Midwifery (Obstetrics), Physiotherapy, Dietetics (Nutrition), Public Health, Emergency Medicine.

Major studies and research projects

The main research directions of the Faculty are: the biological bases of schizophrenia, depression and mental health; frailty in elderly care, determinants of fertility; determinants of ageing; health education and health promotion; experimental emergency medicine; programmes for cardiovascular disease prevention; health psychology; e-health technologies and problems; human resource management in health care, ergonomy in health professions, management in health care, pharmacoeconomics, quality of health care, public health, healthy nutrition and diet treatment, new approach to teaching in nursing, obstetrics, physiotherapy and emergency medicine.
