Call for Section Editors - Annali di Igiene, Medicina Preventiva e di Comunita (Ann Ig)

Indexed Scientific Journal | IF 1.5 | Focus: Preventive medicine, Health Policy, Environmental health 

In the context of its relaunch and internationalization strategy, the editorial board of Annali di Igiene is seeking 1-3 new Section Editors from ASPHER & APHEA communities to join the team of this well-established, peer-reviewed journal in the field of Public Health, Preventive Medicine, Environmental Health, and Health Policy.

Journal Mission

The journal aims to strengthen its international profile while maintaining affordable publication costs, in order to support the dissemination of high-quality research—especially from early-career researchers and academic departments of public health across the European Region and beyond

Desired Profiles

We are looking for non-Italian candidates with a strong public health background. Two complementary profiles will be considered:

  1. Senior scholar (retired or emeritus), internationally recognized and actively engaged in academic publishing.
  2. Early-career researcher with significant bibliometric indicators, a passion for scientific communication, and enthusiasm for emerging challenges in public health. 

Role & Expectations

Section Editors will contribute to:

  • Manuscript screening and assignment of reviewers
  • Editorial decisions in collaboration with the Editors-in-Chief
  • Promoting the journal within their academic networks

This is a voluntary, non-remunerated position, as is standard in scientific publishing. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • A high scientific profile in public health disciplines
  • Commitment to academic integrity and timely editorial work
  • Genuine interest in supporting a growing and accessible journal 

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected by the two current Editors-in-Chief:

  • Gaetano Maria Fara (Emeritus Professor of PH, ASPHER Stampar Medalist, 2019)
  • Carlo Signorelli (Prof of PH, ASPHER President, 2022–2024, APHEA President 2023-)
